What happened

The Tenants requested a review of an order that terminated their tenancy for the Landlords' personal use. The Tenants argued that a serious error occurred because the Landlord did not attend the original hearing and alleged the eviction was motivated by a refusal to pay an illegal rent increase. The LTB Vice Chair reviewed the file and audio recording, determining that the Landlords' family provided sufficient evidence of good faith and the need to provide care for the Landlord in the unit. The review request was denied, confirming the original eviction order.

The ruling

The request to review the order dated August 5, 2025, is denied. The original order terminating the tenancy for personal use remains in effect and unchanged.
