What happened
The landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the tenant due to the tenant's failure to meet a condition specified in a previous LTB order, which was to pay $600 towards rent arrears and the full lawful rent by February 1, 2023.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective July 7, 2023. The tenant must pay the landlord $8,863.34, which includes the remaining rent arrears from the previous order and daily compensation for use of the unit starting June 27, 2023. If the tenant does not pay the full amount by July 7, 2023, they will owe interest at 6% annually on the outstanding balance.
