What happened

Landlords applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant due to the Tenant's failure to pay rent as ordered in a previous LTB order. The Tenant was required to pay $1,000 towards rent arrears by March 17, 2023, but only paid $500.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective May 12, 2023. The Tenant must pay the Landlords $10,704.89 plus $49.32 per day starting May 2, 2023 until the Tenant vacates the unit. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by May 12, 2023, the Tenant will owe interest at 6% annually on the outstanding balance.
