What happened

Tenants filed a T6 application alleging the landlord failed to maintain the rental unit, including issues with the staircase railing, furniture left behind, a non-working fridge, a damaged back door, mold in the bathrooms, a broken bathroom sink, and a damaged front door. The landlord disputed some of the issues and claimed he addressed others.

The Landlord failed to meet their maintenance obligations under the Residential Tenancies Act. The Tenants are awarded $548, including $500 for reasonable out-of-pocket expenses and $48 for the application filing fee.
