What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant because the Landlord requires possession of the rental unit in order to demolish the unit. The Landlord also claimed compensation for each day the Tenant remained in the unit after the termination date.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated. The Tenant must move out of the rental unit on or before April 16, 2023. If the unit is not vacated by that date, the Landlord may file the order with the Court Enforcement Office (Sheriff) to enforce the eviction. The Tenant shall pay the Landlord $1,795.07 for use and occupation of the unit from December 1, 2022 to March 1, 2023, and $19.73 per day starting March 2, 2023 until the Tenant moves out.
