What happened

The Landlords applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant due to non-payment of rent. The Tenant Alison Annable was still in possession of the rental unit when the application was filed, but the other Tenant Bradley Annable had vacated the unit prior to the application being filed.

The ruling

The Board found that it did not have jurisdiction over the arrears claimed for the prior Tenant Bradley Annable, as he had vacated the unit before the application was filed. The Board ordered the remaining Tenant Alison Annable to pay the Landlords $16,534.77, which includes rent arrears, compensation, and the application filing fee, less the rent deposit and interest owed on the deposit. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by the due date, she will owe interest on the outstanding balance.
