What happened

The Landlord, a corporation, applied to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant for non-payment of rent. The Tenant attempted to raise issues under s.82 of the Act but failed to follow disclosure rules and was not permitted to. The Tenant had already vacated the unit before the hearing. The main point of contention was the exact move-out date, which the Board determined to be February 3, 2025, based on an email from the Tenant.

This amount includes rent arrears up to the move-out date and the application fee, reduced by the rent deposit, interest owed, and key deposits held by the Landlord. The Tenant's attempt to raise her own issues at the hearing was dismissed because she failed to follow the Board's rules for disclosing evidence in advance.
