What happened
The Landlord applied to evict the Tenant for non-payment of rent. The parties agreed the rent arrears up to April 30, 2025, are $1,600.00. The Tenant requested a repayment plan to preserve the tenancy, which the Landlord was hesitant about due to past broken agreements but left the decision to the adjudicator. The adjudicator found it would not be unfair to grant relief from eviction with a conditional payment plan.
The ruling
The tenancy is not terminated. The Tenant is granted relief from eviction on the condition that they pay the total arrears of $1,786.00 according to a specific payment schedule, starting with $300.00 by May 15, 2025, and ending in October 2025. The Tenant must also pay ongoing monthly rent on time. If any payment is missed, the Landlord can apply for an eviction order without notice.
