What happened

The Landlords applied for termination of the tenancy and eviction because the Tenants failed to pay the rent. The Tenants requested an adjournment for an interpreter and to raise Section 82 issues, which were denied as they had sufficient time to prepare. The Tenants requested a total waiver of arrears, which the Landlord rejected. The adjudicator ordered termination but delayed eviction to allow the Tenants' school-aged children to finish the month.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective June 30, 2025. To void the order, the Tenants must pay $17,786.00 by May 31, 2025, or $20,586.00 by June 30, 2025. If the tenancy is terminated, the Tenants must pay $12,644.90 and daily compensation of $92.05 until they move out.
