What happened
The Tenant applied for an order determining that the Landlords gave a notice of termination in bad faith. The Landlords served the Tenant with an N12 notice to vacate the rental unit for the purchaser's own residential occupation, but the Tenant alleged that the rental unit was rented out shortly after she vacated.
The ruling
The Landlord must pay the Tenant $1,920.00, which represents the difference in rent the Tenant has incurred for a 12-month period as a result of the Landlords' actions. The Landlord must also pay the Tenant $58.00 for the cost of filing the application.
