What happened

The Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenants due to significant rent arrears. An initial order was issued in the Tenants' absence, which the Tenants subsequently requested to review. At the review hearing, the parties agreed on a termination date of November 30, 2025, acknowledging the substantial arrears that had accumulated due to family medical pressures.

The ruling

The LTB granted the request to review and cancelled the previous order. The tenancy is ordered terminated on November 30, 2025. To void the eviction and continue the tenancy, the Tenants must pay $28,201.00 by October 31, 2025, or $30,801.00 by November 30, 2025. If the tenancy is terminated, the Tenants are ordered to pay $20,499.66 to the Landlord, plus daily compensation of $85.48 from September 3, 2025, until they vacate.
