What happened

The Landlords applied to terminate the tenancy due to substantial interference and sought compensation for unpaid utility costs. By the time of the hearing, the Tenants had vacated the unit on June 22, 2025. Consequently, the Landlords withdrew the request for termination but pursued the claim for unpaid water utility costs that the Tenants were responsible for under the lease agreement.

The ruling

The Tenants are ordered to pay the Landlords $865.45, which includes $679.45 for unpaid water utility costs and $186.00 for the application filing fee. The termination request was withdrawn as the Tenants moved out prior to the hearing. Payment is due by November 8, 2025.
