What happened
Landlord applied for an order to evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent since March 2018 and breach of lease conditions including failure to clean the property. Landlord served a written Notice of Eviction on August 8, 2018, giving Tenant 60 days to vacate. Tenant did not comply or attend the court hearings.
The ruling
The court declared the lease terminated as of October 8, 2018. A writ of possession was granted to the landlord, enforceable by the Sheriff if the tenant does not vacate by February 28, 2019. The tenant was ordered to pay $3,300 in rent arrears with 3% annual post-judgment interest. The request for an injunction to prevent the tenant from interfering with the landlord's enjoyment of the property after eviction was dismissed due to insufficient evidence.
