What happened
The landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the tenant due to the tenant's failure to meet the conditions specified in a previous LTB order, including not paying the full rent arrears and current rent on time.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective May 6, 2023. The tenant must pay the landlord $15,020.82 (less any payments made after the application was filed) by May 6, 2023, representing rent arrears, the cost of the previous application, less the rent deposit and interest. If the tenant does not pay the full amount by May 6, 2023, they will owe interest at 6% annually on the outstanding balance starting May 7, 2023. If the unit is not vacated by May 6, 2023, the landlord can file the order with the Sheriff for enforcement.
