What happened

The landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the tenant because the tenant did not meet a condition specified in a previous order issued by the LTB on September 21, 2022. The tenant failed to pay $200 towards rent arrears by April 23, 2023, and also failed to pay the lawful rent by May 1, 2023.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective June 24, 2023. The tenant must pay the landlord $10,422.60, which includes rent arrears up to June 13, 2023, and the cost of the previous application. The tenant must also pay the landlord $36.20 per day for compensation for use of the unit starting June 14, 2023 until the tenant moves out.
