What happened

The hearing on September 9, 2024 was the latest instalment in a protracted battle between the Landlords and the Tenants that has consumed a rather large amount of time at both the LTB and the Divisional Court. The issues before the LTB on September 9, 2024 included a motion by the Tenants to void an order, the merits of an L2 application by the Landlords, a request by the Landlords to review an order, and the merits of several other applications filed by both parties.

The ruling

The Landlords' request to review the 12 Jan 23 Order is dismissed. The Tenants have voided the L1 portion of the 12 Jan 23 Order, so the portion terminating the tenancy and evicting the Tenants is not enforceable by the Landlords.
