What happened

The landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the tenant due to the tenant's failure to pay rent as ordered in a previous LTB order. The tenant did not meet the condition specified in the previous order to pay the rent arrears.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective April 15, 2023. The tenant must pay the landlord $4,674.29 (less any payments made after the application was filed) for rent arrears up to April 4, 2023 and the application fee, less the rent deposit and interest. The tenant must also pay $27.72 per day in compensation for use of the unit starting April 5, 2023 until the tenant moves out.
