What happened

Landlord applied for an order requiring the Tenant to pay the rent that the Tenant owes. The Tenant vacated the rental unit on December 31, 2022 and did not pay the total rent they were required to pay for the period from April 1, 2020 to December 31, 2022.

The ruling

The Tenant shall pay the Landlord $4,553.99, which includes rent arrears up to June 30, 2022 and the cost of the application, minus the rent deposit and interest owing. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by April 24, 2023, the Tenant will start to owe interest at 6.00% annually on the outstanding balance.
