What happened

The landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the tenant due to the tenant's failure to meet the conditions specified in a previous LTB order. The tenant failed to pay $900 towards outstanding arrears by the due date and failed to pay the full rent for May 2023 by the due date.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective June 6, 2023. The tenant must pay the landlord $6,866.12 (less any payments made after the application was filed) by June 6, 2023. The tenant must also pay the landlord $27.12 per day for compensation for use of the unit starting May 27, 2023 until the tenant moves out. If the tenant does not pay the full amount by June 6, 2023, the tenant will owe interest at 6% annually on the outstanding balance starting June 7, 2023.
