What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to non-payment of rent. The Tenant did not attend the hearing, and the Landlord's representative stated that the Tenant was served with the notice of hearing by regular mail to the Tenant's father's address where the Tenant resides.
The ruling
The tenancy between the Landlord and the Tenant is terminated as of January 22, 2024, the date the Tenant moved out of the rental unit. The Tenant shall pay the Landlord $4,374.57, which includes rent arrears up to the move-out date and the cost of filing the application, minus the rent deposit and interest on the deposit.
