What happened
The Tenant requested a review of a previous order (LTB-L-015309-25) that required them to pay rent arrears. The Tenant argued they gave a shorter notice to terminate because they believed the Landlord's application for own use was still active. The Board found the Tenant had received an email notification that the Landlord's application was withdrawn. Therefore, the Tenant was required to give a standard 60-day notice. Their shorter notice was deemed inadequate, making them liable for rent until March 31, 2025. The review request was denied as no serious error was found.
The ruling
The Tenant's request to review order LTB-L-015309-25 is denied. The Board found no serious error in the original proceeding or order. The original order, which ordered the Tenant to pay rent arrears, is confirmed and remains in effect.
