What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to non-payment of rent. The Tenant did not attend the hearing, although properly served with notice. The Landlord was granted the order as the Tenant did not void the N4 notice by paying the rent arrears.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated unless the Tenant pays $8,282.86 by June 30, 2023 or $9,443.60 by July 16, 2023 to void the order. If the Tenant does not pay, they must vacate the unit by July 16, 2023 and pay the Landlord $6,105.48 plus daily compensation.
