What happened
The Landlord filed an application to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenants for non-payment of rent. A valid N4 Notice was served, which the Tenants did not void. One Tenant attended the hearing, explaining he had lost his job, broken up with his girlfriend, and was dealing with mental health issues. He requested more time. The Landlord stated that despite promises, only minor payments had been made, and he was also facing financial hardship.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated unless the Tenants void the order by paying the full amount owing. Two payment options are provided: $6,756.00 by April 30, 2025, or $8,206.00 by May 4, 2025. If the order is not voided, the Tenants must vacate by May 4, 2025, and pay the Landlord $4,198.43, plus daily compensation of $47.67 from April 9, 2025, until they move out.
