What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenants because the Landlord in good faith requires possession of the rental unit for the purpose of residential occupation for at least one year. The Landlord purchased the property in March 2022 and served an N12 notice on the Tenants.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective February 15, 2023. The Landlord is required to pay the Tenants compensation equal to one month's rent by January 16, 2023. The Tenants are required to pay the Landlord $186 for the cost of filing the application by February 15, 2023.
