What happened

The Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant due to the Tenant's failure to meet certain conditions specified in a previous order issued by the LTB on March 31, 2022 with respect to application SWL-52183-21. The Tenant failed to pay $300 towards rent arrears by August 20, 2022, and also failed to pay the lawful rent by September 1, 2022.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective April 25, 2023. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $13,930.68, which represents the rent arrears up to April 14, 2023, and the cost of filing the previous application. The Tenant must also pay the Landlord $37.12 per day for compensation for the use of the unit starting April 15, 2023 until the Tenant moves out.
