What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to the Tenant's failure to meet a condition specified in a previous LTB order, which was to pay the lawful rent for May 2023 in full by May 1, 2023.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated, and the Tenant must move out by June 12, 2023. If the unit is not vacated by that date, the Landlord may file the order with the Court Enforcement Office for enforcement. The Tenant must also pay the Landlord $33.70 per day in compensation for use of the unit starting June 2, 2023 until the Tenant moves out. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount owed by June 12, 2023, they will start owing interest at 6% annually on the outstanding balance.
