What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant due to the Tenant's failure to meet a condition specified in a previous LTB order. The Tenant was required to pay $1,000 towards outstanding arrears by February 15, 2023, but failed to do so.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective May 6, 2023. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $12,859.25, which includes the remaining rent arrears from the previous order and daily compensation for the Tenant's continued occupation of the unit. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by May 6, 2023, they will owe interest at 6% annually on the outstanding balance.
