What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants because the Landlord in good faith requires possession of the rental unit for the purpose of residential occupation for at least one year.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective July 1, 2025. The Tenants must vacate the unit by that date. If they do not, the Landlord can file the order with the Sheriff to enforce the eviction. The Tenants must also pay the Landlord $32.88 per day ($1,000 per month) for use of the unit from December 17, 2024 until they move out, as well as $186 for the application filing fee. If the Tenants do not pay the full amount by July 1, 2025, they will owe interest at 6% annually on the outstanding balance.
