What happened
The Landlords applied to terminate the tenancy and evict an unauthorized occupant (the son of the deceased tenant) who remained in the unit after the sole tenant passed away. The occupant had misled the landlords regarding the tenant's death and failed to pay compensation for several months.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective December 17, 2024. The Unauthorized Occupant is ordered to vacate the unit by July 20, 2025, and pay the Landlords $3,997.20, which includes daily compensation for use of the unit and the application filing fee. If the occupant does not vacate, the Landlord may enforce eviction through the Sheriff.
