What happened

Tenants applied for an order determining that the Landlord failed to meet the Landlord's maintenance obligations under the Residential Tenancies Act, 2006 or failed to comply with health, safety, housing or maintenance standards. The issues were related to a beeping fridge and cockroach infestation.

The ruling

The Landlord is ordered to pay the Tenants $2,225.93 for abatement of rent and costs. If the Landlord does not pay the full amount by November 4, 2023, the Landlord will owe interest at 7% annually on the outstanding balance.
