What happened
The Landlords applied to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant due to significant rent arrears. The Tenant, part of a family of eight, requested relief from eviction via a payment plan. The adjudicator denied the payment plan, finding the tenancy not viable due to the substantial amount owed, but granted a short postponement of the eviction to allow the Tenant to find alternative accommodation or pay the full amount.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated unless the Tenant voids the order by paying $19,385.00 by April 30, 2025, or $21,585.00 by May 30, 2025. If the order is not voided, the Tenant must vacate by May 30, 2025, and pay the Landlords $18,414.61 plus $72.33 daily compensation from April 18, 2025, until move-out.
