What happened

The landlords applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the tenant because the tenant, another occupant, or someone the tenant permitted substantially interfered with the landlord's reasonable enjoyment or lawful right, privilege or interest, and the tenant, another occupant, or someone the tenant permitted wilfully or negligently caused damage to the premises.

The ruling

The tenant shall pay the landlord $223.00 for the cost of replacing the damaged lock, and $186.00 for the cost of filing the application, for a total of $409.00. If the tenant does not pay the full amount by June 30, 2023, the tenant will start to owe interest at 6.00% annually on the outstanding balance.
