What happened

The Landlord applied to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenants because they failed to pay the lawful rent. The Tenants did not dispute the arrears and requested additional time to pay. A hearing was held where both parties were present. The LTB found that the Tenants owed significant arrears and issued a standard termination order with a voiding provision.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective August 9, 2025, unless the Tenants pay the required amounts to void the order. The Tenants must pay $17,686.00 by July 31, 2025, or $19,936.00 by August 9, 2025, to continue the tenancy. If the order is not voided, the Tenants must move out and pay the Landlord $10,992.09 plus daily compensation of $73.97 from June 3, 2025, until they vacate.
