What happened

The Tenants filed a review request for an order that terminated their tenancy for rent arrears. The Tenants argued that the original order failed to address serious health and safety concerns (infestations), lack of essential furniture, and a failure to accommodate their disabilities. They further claimed they were unable to participate effectively in the original hearing because one tenant was unwell and the other was confused. The Board found that the health and disability issues were not raised at the original hearing and that the Tenants had the opportunity to seek legal help and participate, thus no serious error occurred.

The ruling

The request to review the original order (LTB-L-102095-24) is denied. The original order, which terminated the tenancy due to rent arrears effective July 25, 2025, remains confirmed and unchanged. The Board found no serious errors in the original proceedings.
