What happened

The Landlord applied for an order requiring the Tenants to pay rent arrears. The Tenants vacated the rental unit on February 23, 2025, after the application was filed. The Board determined the lawful rent was $3,500.00 per month. The Tenants failed to pay full rent for the period between November 30, 2024, and February 23, 2025. Tenant 1 attended the hearing while Tenant 2 did not.

The ruling

The Tenants are ordered to pay the Landlord $6,283.47 for rent arrears and the application filing fee. If payment is not made by July 5, 2025, interest will accrue at a rate of 5.00% annually.
