What happened

The landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the tenants due to their failure to pay rent as ordered in a previous LTB order. The tenants were required to pay $1,500 towards rent arrears by May 1, 2023, but failed to do so.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective June 13, 2023. The tenants must pay the landlord $10,575.23 plus $32.40 per day starting June 3, 2023 until they vacate the unit. If the full amount is not paid by June 13, 2023, the tenants will owe interest at 6% annually on the outstanding balance.
