What happened

The Tenant applied for an order determining that the Landlord entered the rental unit illegally, altered the locking system without providing replacement keys, and harassed, obstructed, coerced, threatened or interfered with the Tenant. The Tenant also applied for an order determining that the Landlord collected or retained money illegally.

The ruling

The Tenant's application about Tenant's Rights (T2) is dismissed. The Landlord shall pay the Tenant $122.98, which represents interest owing on the last month's rent deposit ($69.98) and the cost of filing the application ($53.00). If the Landlord does not pay the Tenant the full amount owing by November 28, 2023, the Landlord will owe interest.
