What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to failure to pay rent. The application was filed after serving a valid N4 Notice, which the tenants did not void by paying the arrears. Tenant Melinda Siddle had vacated the rental unit in June 2022 but was still named as a tenant.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated unless the Tenants pay $20,341 to void the order by August 13, 2023. If the Tenants do not void the order, they must pay $14,198.96 to the Landlord and vacate the unit by August 13, 2023. The Landlord is entitled to daily compensation of $85.93 for the Tenants' continued occupation after July 21, 2023.
