What happened

The Tenant applied for an order determining that the Landlords entered the rental unit illegally, substantially interfered with the reasonable enjoyment of the rental unit or residential complex, and harassed, obstructed, coerced, threatened or interfered with the Tenant. The Tenant alleged that the Landlords entered the basement without notice on three occasions and asked the Tenant's guest to leave on two occasions.

The ruling

The Tenant's application is dismissed. The Board found that although the parties had separate spaces, the essence of the arrangement was that they lived as a family throughout the house, and the Landlords' concerns about their children's safety with an unfamiliar overnight guest were reasonable.
