What happened
The Tenant requested a review of an eviction order for non-payment of rent, claiming new employment and ability to pay. However, the Tenant failed to attend the review hearing. Evidence presented by the Landlord included the Tenant's own social media vlogs where she stated she would not pay the arrears and mocked the LTB process. The Adjudicator found the review request was a bad faith attempt to deceive the Board and delay the eviction.
The ruling
The request for review is denied and the original eviction order is confirmed. The stay of the eviction is lifted immediately. Due to the Tenant's 'hubristic' and bad faith conduct, including public social media posts admitting to an intent not to pay rent and to abuse the LTB process, the Tenant is ordered to pay $300.00 in costs directly to the Landlord and Tenant Board by November 30, 2025.
