Landlords applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants because the Landlords, in good faith, require possession of the rental unit for the purpose of residential occupation for at least one year.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective June 30, 2023. The Landlords are entitled to take possession of the rental unit. The Landlords owe the Tenants $2,258.48 for the rent deposit and interest, but the Landlords can deduct $75.01 per day from this amount for compensation for the use of the unit starting July 1, 2023 until the Tenants move out.
