What happened

The corporate Landlord applied to evict the Tenant for non-payment of rent. The Tenant did not attend the hearing. The Landlord requested a conditional order based on a repayment agreement. The Board granted relief from eviction, ordering the Tenant to pay the arrears of $4,627.00 through a structured payment plan while also paying ongoing rent. Failure to comply will allow the Landlord to seek an eviction order without a further hearing.

The ruling

The Tenant is ordered to pay the Landlord $4,627.00, representing rent arrears and costs. The eviction is denied on the condition that the Tenant follows a specific payment plan starting March 29, 2025, and pays ongoing monthly rent in full and on time. If the Tenant fails to make any payment, the Landlord can apply to the LTB for an order to evict the Tenant without a hearing.
