What happened

The landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the tenants due to their failure to meet a condition specified in a previous LTB order. The tenants failed to pay $400 towards rent arrears by March 20, 2023, and the full rent by April 1, 2023, as required by the previous order.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective May 29, 2023. The tenants must pay the landlord $23,171.73, which includes rent arrears up to May 18, 2023, and the cost of the previous application, less the rent deposit and interest. The tenants must also pay $52.15 per day in compensation for use of the unit starting May 19, 2023 until they move out.
