What happened

The Landlord applied to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenants because they knowingly and materially misrepresented their household income, which affected their rent-geared-to-income (RGI) subsidy. An investigation revealed the Tenants were actually living in Hamilton, Ontario, while holding a subsidized unit in Toronto and failing to report significant employment income.
