What happened

The Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenants due to their failure to meet a condition specified in a previous order issued by the LTB on February 15, 2023. The Tenants failed to pay the full $600.00 towards arrears on or before May 15, 2023 as required by the previous order.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective June 24, 2023. The Tenants must pay the Landlord $20,644.76 (less any payments made after the application was filed) for rent arrears up to June 13, 2023, plus $17.52 per day for compensation for use of the unit starting June 14, 2023 until the Tenants vacate. If the full amount is not paid by June 24, 2023, the Tenants will owe interest at 6% annually on the outstanding balance.
