What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to persistent late payment of rent. The Landlord served a valid N8 notice, and the Tenants were not present at the hearing.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective September 7, 2024. The Tenant must vacate the unit by that date. If the unit is not vacated, the Landlord may file the order with the Sheriff for enforcement. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $24.99 per day for use of the unit starting August 16, 2024 until move-out, as well as the $186 application fee. The Landlord owes the Tenant $790.87 for the rent deposit and interest, which is deducted from the amount the Tenant owes.
