What happened
The Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant due to rent arrears. Although the Tenant was not present at the hearing, the Landlord's agent indicated that an agreement for a payment plan had been reached. The Landlord requested the Board to formalize this payment plan rather than immediate eviction.
The ruling
The LTB ordered the Tenant to pay $4,825.00 in arrears and costs according to a schedule ending February 1, 2026. Relief from eviction was granted on the condition that the Tenant adheres to the payment plan and pays ongoing rent on time. If any payment is missed, the Landlord can apply for an immediate eviction order without notice.
