What happened
The landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the tenant due to the tenant's failure to pay rent for January 2023. The landlord was entitled to apply under the previous order without notice to the tenant.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective April 7, 2023. The tenant must pay the landlord $1,290.67 in new arrears, plus $22.19 per day in compensation for continued occupation starting March 28, 2023 until the tenant vacates. If the tenant does not pay the full amount by April 7, 2023, the tenant will owe interest at 5% annually on the outstanding balance.
