What happened
The landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the tenant because the landlord in good faith requires possession of the rental unit for the purpose of residential occupation for at least one year.
The ruling
The tenancy between the landlord and the tenant is terminated. The tenant must move out of the rental unit on or before August 31, 2023. If the unit is not vacated by that date, the landlord may file the order with the Court Enforcement Office for enforcement. The tenant's last month's rent deposit will be applied to August 2023, and the landlord will pay the tenant $65 to top up the interest on the deposit.
