What happened

The Landlord applied for an order requiring the Tenant to pay rent arrears and NSF charges. The Tenant vacated the rental unit on June 30, 2025, but had given a notice to terminate that did not meet the 60-day requirement under the Act. The hearing proceeded in the absence of the Tenant.

The ruling

The Tenant is ordered to pay the Landlord $3,935.87 by August 17, 2025. This amount includes rent arrears for the period of March to June 2025, NSF fees, and the application filing fee, after accounting for the last month's rent deposit and interest. If payment is not made by the due date, interest will accrue at 4.00% per annum.
